    Bestival

We’ve arrived back from Bestival with a cracker of a show for you. In addition, we’ve got new music from The Binary Collective, Hitori Tori, Ninjato, Funckarma, Pangaea, Oxynucid, Space Dimension Controller and more, plus details of a competition to win CD copies of the new Cosmin TRG album on Monkeytown.

Tune in 10-12 UK time on www.brap.fm, or listen to the archives via the Brap and Centrifuge sites, Mixcloud, iTunes or PFRadio.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Interview with MODESELEKTOR

ModeselektorAs we approach the release of their 3rd LP, Modeselektor dropped into London to play at the SW4 festival alongside Pendulum, Richie Hawtin and others. We took the chance to corner them for a half hour chat about the new album, starting 2 labels, collaborating with Antipop Consortium and Busdriver, their live and recording processes and many more. We’re really proud to be able to give this insight into one of the best electronic acts of the last decade.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also new music from Cosmin TRG, Himuro, Legowelt, FMControl, Geotic, Ion Driver, Aardvack, Mark Swift, Unquote and many more.

Tune in at www.brap.fm, 10pm tonight.

Also my apologies for anyone who missed out on last week’s show – we were unable to send them promo from a field in Croatia. If you missed it, that show is now online. Check the Radio page for details.

Two of their primary artists, Duskky and Hurtdeer, have combined to present a mix of 100/200bpm beats which is up there with the best mixes we’ve heard this year, and we’re proud to present it on our 50th show. Featuring exclusive tracks from both DJs, plus music from wAgAwAgA, Cognidubus and Krest, this is one that’ll stay on your iPod (or other brand mp3 player) for some time.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Baths (Anticon) interview / Guest mix from Datacrashrobot (Crazy Language)

A double whammy for you this week:

Firstly, we’ve an interview with Anticon’s emoglitchhop wunderkind Will Wiesenfeld aka Baths. Recorded just before his recent show at Cargo, Will talked about the royal wedding, being on Anticon, his current musical obsession (Azeda Booth) and a whole lot more. Then, when we realised the recorder hadn’t worked, he very graciously sat through and went all over it again. The eventual recording will air on tonight’s show.

After that, we’ve an exclusive guest mix from Datacrashrobot. Hailing from Bucharest, he’s put together an hour of his trademark glitch stylings for us. Regular listeners will know his releases on Crazy Language from previous shows, and he’s put together a stormer for us here.

In addition, we’ve new material from The Weevil Neighbourhood, Pachecko, Scrubber , dgoHn, Orson Bramley, Rival Consoles, Africa Hitech, Philia Monstrum, Hyetal, Chris Kubex and more.

Tune in, and check out the brand new Brap homepage.

We’ll be playing the usual selection of great new music including tunes from Boddika, Scrubber Fox, Volitune, Ruby My Dear, Amon Tobin, Red Snapper and more, and hopefully fitting in some interviews with the artists at the event. If you can’t make it down, it’ll be the next best thing to being there.

    www.brap.fm – 10-12pm BST.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Japan Fundraiser Warm-Up – mix from Luke’s Anger (Bonus Round)

After the tragic events in Japan recently, everyone wants to do something to contribute to the relief effort. Here at The Centrifuge, we’re teaming up with Splutter for a charity night at Islington Metalworkz on April 28th featuring Mike Dred, Monster X, Icarus, Point B and many more. Luke’s Anger, who also plays, has very kindly given us a 45m mix (originally recorded for crankthesteza.org) to get us in the mood. More details can be found at The Facebook Event.

The more observant of you will have noticed that Ursa is on the bill, and that April 28th is the date of the next radio show. We’re hoping to broadcast the show live from the venue, with some interviews and possibly more…but you’ll have to tune in on the 28th or come to the venue to find out…

In addition, we’ll be playing music from some other fundraising efforts including Naibu’s new EP on Subtle Audio, Submerse’s Heartbeats compilation, a net-audio collective sale in the industrial scene – and new music from Wisp, Actress, Instra:mental, Sleeparchive, Downstate, Yes Wizard, Himuro Yoshitseru and many more.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Exclusive guest mix from Vaetxh (The Centrifuge / Tigerbeat6), plus Siriusmo competition

This week, we’re very proud to have an exclusive guest mix from The Centrifuge’s resident glitchmeister – and recent addition to Tigerbeat6’s Andale! series – Rob Clouth aka Vaetxh. A master of glitched out production and heavy bass, Rob’s music as Vaetxh has as much to offer fans of Autechre and Alva Noto as it does fans of Vex’d and Kryptic Minds. You’ll be hearing a lot more from him over the next few months, and this 30 minute mix of his own material is a great place to start.

In addition, we’re giving away 2 CD copies of my favourite album of the year so far, Siriusmo’s ‘Mosaik’. After his set at BLOC (one of the highlights of the weekend) there’s been a lot of talk about this Monkeytown signee, and you can get your own copy of the CD gratis if you tune in – and don’t worry if you miss the show, the competition will be open for a week for any archive listeners who feel they’ve missed out.

In addition, we’ve new music from Burial, Beardyman, Ukkonen, SKatterBrain, Shankles, PILAR, Aleksi Perala, Dorian Concept, Lone, Modeselektor, They Live, and however many more I can fit in the space of two hours.

Listen live on www.brap.fm, Thursday night, 10-12pm BST – or listen to the archive via The Centrifuge and Brap.fm sites, mixcloud.com/ursa, www.pfradio.com or direct via the iTunes podcast.

Our main guest mix this week is from Airflex Labs supremo Opti. Pierre has kindly put together a selection of his favourite current tunes including tracks from Headhunter, Radiohead, Boddika, Pearson Sound, Joy O and more – plenty of unreleased and forthcoming tracks feature over the hour long mix.

In addition, we’ve a 20 minute minimix from Zzzzra. A fascinating and prolific dub-techno producer, with five releases last year and three already in 2011, including his most recent ep on Insectorama. Alex has put together this mix of his material to give an insight into his style, and it’s one we hope you’ll enjoy.

In addition, we’ve new music from Luke’s Anger, Ital-tek, Psycatron, Domgue, Max Tundra, a genius remix of Tyler the Creator by Toro Y Moi, and many more. All that, and a little report from the weekend’s BLOC festival in Minehead.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Caoutchou Records special

With several members of their crew appearing alongside artists from The Centrifuge at this summer’s Lost Theory festival. To celebrate, we’ve three 20 minute guest mixes from Ninjato, Stubborn and Boys Withoys.
