  • Tonight – The Centrifuge Radio Show #75 – guest mix from Koolmorf Widesen (Eves/The Centrifuge)

Moving to Wednesdays, The Centrifuge Radio Show relaunches with a guest mix we’ve been wanting to air for some time. Koolmorf Widesen has featured on The Centrifuge’s label since way back to our 20th release (Bow ’94, still one of our favourite tunes of that era) and has put together an astounding guest mix for us. 55 minutes of absolutely everything exciting in electronic music right now.

In addition, music from Delta Funktionen, Eomac, Thrupence, Si Begg, Double O, Shed, Chordata, Warlock and many more.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – guest mix from Topher (Aries Slant / Bit-Phalanx)

On this week’s show we’ve a properly eclectic mix from a mainstay of the french electronic scene, Bit-phalanx’s Topher. A producer and DJ since the late 80s, Topher is the man behind both the Aries Slant label and the György Ligeti Tribute project, as well as releasing tracks on labels such as Bit-Phalanx. His mix moves from downtempo dubby vibes through 4×4 dancefloor materials right through to balls out breakcore, and features tracks from Volitune, T-Toe, Steinvord, Untrkmind and many more.

In addition, we’ve a competition to win a CD and T-Shirt combo of Addison Groove’s ‘Transistor Rhythm’ LP, plus new music from Coppe, Phon.o, Roughquest, Kamikaze Space Programme, Hurtdeer and many more.

As well as this, we’ve new music from Scrubber Fox, Duke Slammer, Space Ladies, Thrupence, Vincent Steiner, Kristian Heikkila, Paul Mac, Max Cooper, Swarm Intelligence and many more, plus a competition to win a copy of Addison Groove’s new album on 50 Weapons.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Bad Sekta Retrospective from PHUQ

As we approach show number 69, The Centrifuge Radio Show is proud to present a retrospective mix from Bad Sekta’s very own PHUQ. With past releases from Voltergeist, Blackmass Plastics, Last Boss, Ronin and many others, plus a forthcoming release from The Centrifuge’s own Scrubber Fox, Bad Sekta has a formidable back catalogue, and label boss PHUQ has harvested the best for a retrospective mix for the show. A great listen for those of you into your dark, aggressive, abstract noises.

In addition…well, there’s so much we haven’t decided exactly what to play, but for starters you’ll hear new music from Addison Groove, Mouse on Mars, Poborsk, Ukkonen, Toob, Cygnus, Molez, Memotone, Lorn, Caoutchou records and many, many more.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #67 – Guest mix from Machine Gun Militia (Oeuvre)

Our guest mix this week comes from Machine Gun Militia, a Nottingham-based crew that just released the fantastic ‘Open Fire’ EP on Oeuvre records. The four tracks within are perfect examples of skeletal, noir-ridden dubstep, and their mix expands beyond that, twisting and evolving over 40 minutes and featuring tunes from Persons Unknown, Vex’d, eLan and more. Quite possibly a name you’ll be seeing more of soon.

Add to that, new music from Mrs Jynx, Scuba, Steinvord, Radioactive Man, NCQL, Strago & Snooks, Gareth Clarke, Macka, Downstate, and more.

Tune in on www.brap.fm, 10pm tonight, or find the archives soon afterwards.

We’ll be playing an extract from his set at the last Free-lectronica event, which was one of the highlights of the night. Expect 303s, amens, footwork, beautiful melodies, and some straight out stomping.

From their first EP on Replhex back in 1996 through to their most recent LP for 030303 in 2010, they’ve continued to astound critics and listeners alike, and have very kindly given us permission to air a live set recorded at Moog in Barcelona a couple of months ago.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – minimix from Tim Reaper for Amen Warfare (DSCI4)

DSCI4 have been one of the most seminal DnB labels of the last 10 years, and will sadly be shutting up shop in the near future. However, they’ll be going out with a bang with their final release, the ‘Amen Warfare’ compilation, featuring amen-based tracks from a huge range of producers. To celebrate this, Tim Reaper has put together a 15m minimix of tracks from the album, and you get a chance to listen to them all on this week’s show.

In addition, we’ve new music from Debasser, Lifecycle, Mad EP & Shadowhuntaz, AAIMON, Valance Drakes and many more.

With the end of the year approaching, we thought it was time to give a little back. Those who were at The Centrifuge’s Rhythm Factory night in September will remember who awesome Gareth Clarke’s set was, and you’ll get a chance to hear it again on tonight’s show in advance of his slot at Free-lectronica in a couple of weeks.

Alongside this, the usual bundle of new music and details about the final shows of the year.

Canary WarpOur first broadcast from our new studio goes out tonight, and we’ve got a guest mix from Canary Warp to christen the decks. A new pseudonym for someone familiar to net-labels Swishcotheque and the Centrifuge, Canary Warp combines the sleek styles of the 80s with the twisted sounds of proper IDM. In his own words it’s ‘Aesthetics of money and power… bonus kultur… cocaine… money worship… occult glamour… That sort of thing.’ We’ve got a laptop set for your delectation recorded at last week’s Freelectronica event, featuring some of his new tunes alongside tracks from Com Truise, Clark, Baconhead, The Tuss and more.

In addition, new music from Anstam, Lowtec, Space Dimension Controller, Plug, Rick James, Mark Archer, Sepalcure, Untold, Death Abyss and more.

Having reached their second decade, Thin Consolation have a great history of putting out off kilter, hip hop influenced beats. With Funckarma, Cupp Cave and Hermutt Lobby (amongst others) appearing on their releases, they’re one of the more interesting collectives to come out of Belgium in recent years. More details? ‘Some people drink, some collect stamps, some prefer gardening or cross dressing. This is our thing.’ Perhaps listening to their guest mix on the show this week will give you a better idea…
