  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – guest mix from Topher (Aries Slant / Bit-Phalanx)

    On this week’s show we’ve a properly eclectic mix from a mainstay of the french electronic scene, Bit-phalanx’s Topher. A producer and DJ since the late 80s, Topher is the man behind both the Aries Slant label and the György Ligeti Tribute project, as well as releasing tracks on labels such as Bit-Phalanx. His mix moves from downtempo dubby vibes through 4×4 dancefloor materials right through to balls out breakcore, and features tracks from Volitune, T-Toe, Steinvord, Untrkmind and many more.

    In addition, we’ve a competition to win a CD and T-Shirt combo of Addison Groove’s ‘Transistor Rhythm’ LP, plus new music from Coppe, Phon.o, Roughquest, Kamikaze Space Programme, Hurtdeer and many more.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #71 – Guest mix from Cogidubnus (Broken Bubble)

    Nominated for Best New Label at the Dubstepforum awards, Broken Bubble have gone from strength to strength over the last year. With releases from Mirror State, Second Line, Macka as well as former guest mixers Duskky and Hurtdeer, the label is right at the top for interesting dubbed-out flavours, and label owner Cogidubnus has given us a very special mix showcasing the best the label has to offer.

    As well as this, we’ve new music from Scrubber Fox, Duke Slammer, Space Ladies, Thrupence, Vincent Steiner, Kristian Heikkila, Paul Mac, Max Cooper, Swarm Intelligence and many more, plus a competition to win a copy of Addison Groove’s new album on 50 Weapons.

    As we approach show number 69, The Centrifuge Radio Show is proud to present a retrospective mix from Bad Sekta’s very own PHUQ. With past releases from Voltergeist, Blackmass Plastics, Last Boss, Ronin and many others, plus a forthcoming release from The Centrifuge’s own Scrubber Fox, Bad Sekta has a formidable back catalogue, and label boss PHUQ has harvested the best for a retrospective mix for the show. A great listen for those of you into your dark, aggressive, abstract noises.

    Our guest mix this week comes from Machine Gun Militia, a Nottingham-based crew that just released the fantastic ‘Open Fire’ EP on Oeuvre records. The four tracks within are perfect examples of skeletal, noir-ridden dubstep, and their mix expands beyond that, twisting and evolving over 40 minutes and featuring tunes from Persons Unknown, Vex’d, eLan and more. Quite possibly a name you’ll be seeing more of soon.

    Time for the first proper guest mix of the year, and we’re starting as we mean to go on. D’Arcangelo should be well known to anyone with an interest in electronica. From their first EP on Replhex back in 1996 through to their most recent LP for 030303 in 2010, they’ve continued to astound critics and listeners alike, and have very kindly given us permission to air a live set recorded at Moog in Barcelona a couple of months ago.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – minimix from Tim Reaper for Amen Warfare (DSCI4)


    DSCI4 have been one of the most seminal DnB labels of the last 10 years, and will sadly be shutting up shop in the near future. However, they’ll be going out with a bang with their final release, the ‘Amen Warfare’ compilation, featuring amen-based tracks from a huge range of producers. To celebrate this, Tim Reaper has put together a 15m minimix of tracks from the album, and you get a chance to listen to them all on this week’s show.

    As our radio show approaches its’ 2nd birthday, The Centrifuge Radio Show is honoured to feature a mix from 50 Weapons/Monkeytown’s secret weapon, Anstam. Originally recorded to celebrate their appearance at this year’s MUTEK festival, and featured as part of FACT Magazine’s podcast series, the secretive Berlin duo are back after two years away, and combine 90’s jungle, skeletal dubstep, IDM flavours, and a little bit of Arvo Pärt into 35m of utter ingenuity, and we’re glad to be able to feature them on the show.

    In addition, we’ve some tracks from ICASEA’s new monstrous 75 track compilation in aid of Japan, plus new music from Raoul Sinier, Vincent Steiner, Bop, IJO, Eschaton, Opti, Hurtdeer, Tatlum, The One AM Radio, Threnody, Aerea Negro and many more.

    We’ve reached our 50th show, and to celebrate, we’ve a mix i’ve been looking forward to playing for months. Over the last two years we’ve showcased music from some of the most exciting and interesting new acts around, and some of the most thrilling has come from the Mothers Against Noise crew and Broken Bubble label. Two of their primary artists, Duskky and Hurtdeer, have combined to present a mix of 100/200bpm beats which is up there with the best mixes we’ve heard this year, and we’re proud to present it on our 50th show. Featuring exclusive tracks from both DJs, plus music from wAgAwAgA, Cognidubus and Krest, this is one that’ll stay on your iPod (or other brand mp3 player) for some time.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Japan Fundraiser Warm-Up – mix from Luke’s Anger (Bonus Round)

    After the tragic events in Japan recently, everyone wants to do something to contribute to the relief effort. Here at The Centrifuge, we’re teaming up with Splutter for a charity night at Islington Metalworkz on April 28th featuring Mike Dred, Monster X, Icarus, Point B and many more. Luke’s Anger, who also plays, has very kindly given us a 45m mix (originally recorded for crankthesteza.org) to get us in the mood. More details can be found at The Facebook Event.

    The more observant of you will have noticed that Ursa is on the bill, and that April 28th is the date of the next radio show. We’re hoping to broadcast the show live from the venue, with some interviews and possibly more…but you’ll have to tune in on the 28th or come to the venue to find out…

    This week, we’re very proud to have an exclusive guest mix from The Centrifuge’s resident glitchmeister – and recent addition to Tigerbeat6’s Andale! series – Rob Clouth aka Vaetxh. A master of glitched out production and heavy bass, Rob’s music as Vaetxh has as much to offer fans of Autechre and Alva Noto as it does fans of Vex’d and Kryptic Minds. You’ll be hearing a lot more from him over the next few months, and this 30 minute mix of his own material is a great place to start.

    In addition, we’re giving away 2 CD copies of my favourite album of the year so far, Siriusmo’s ‘Mosaik’.     Boys WithoysIt’s time for another edition of The Centrifuge Radio Show, and this time around we’re putting a special focus on Belgian crew Caoutchou. After a couple of glorious compilations including a split with Ideation and the fantastic Moth Conk Midi lp, the Caoutchou crew have serious plans for the upcoming year. With several members of their crew appearing alongside artists from The Centrifuge at this summer’s Lost Theory festival. To celebrate, we’ve three 20 minute guest mixes from Ninjato, Stubborn and Boys Withoys. Covering the whole beat-based range with glitch, dubstep, jungle, idm and more, they’re a great introduction to the Caoutchou sound.
