  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #50 – exclusive mix from Duskky & Hurtdeer

We’ve reached our 50th show, and to celebrate, we’ve a mix i’ve been looking forward to playing for months. Over the last two years we’ve showcased music from some of the most exciting and interesting new acts around, and some of the most thrilling has come from the Mothers Against Noise crew and Broken Bubble label. Two of their primary artists, Duskky and Hurtdeer, have combined to present a mix of 100/200bpm beats which is up there with the best mixes we’ve heard this year, and we’re proud to present it on our 50th show. Featuring exclusive tracks from both DJs, plus music from wAgAwAgA, Cognidubus and Krest, this is one that’ll stay on your iPod (or other brand mp3 player) for some time.

In addition, we’ve new music from Lee J. Malcolm, Galaxian, Outrage, Bop, Samiyam, Anstam, Indulin, Baobinga and Randomer, Missqulater, Fexomat and many more.

    10pm – 6am // FREE ENTRY ALL NIGHT

We return to our spiritual home of East London after myriad excursions around the festivals, warehouses and dancefloors of Europe and North America over the summer.

To celebrate our homecoming we’ve assembled a bumper lineup to test the outer reaches of the Rhythm Factory’s souped-up soundsystem. With no less than 5 cutting-edge live acts and the Dispatch Agency crew taking over the second room, somehow incredibly we’ve managed to keep it free entry too. All the more reason to come and celebrate!

    More Infos:

CURSOR MINER is the avant pop anti-hero who continues to confound expectations, sport outlandish costumes and shatter genre preconceptions with his barnstorming live show. His last album on Uncharted Audio was a veritable tour de force straddling the line between perfectly crafted vocal pop and cerebral dancefloor electronics. Having torn the roof down at The Centrifuge’s 3rd Birthday Party in Berlin last year we are delighted to welcome him back for a romp in his home territory.

Did DEBASSER really start the whole UK bass scene? You better believe it, when his critically-acclaimed release on NovaMute “Fat Girls” came out it caused a ruckus and endless inspirants, imitations and countless sub-genres. Having just released a new single “The Tingler” on his own WIDE Records, this is his first live outing for The Centrifuge and the excitement is already building to hear those basslines on that PA.

Electro-pop noizenik RIVAL CONSOLES has just released his landmark 2nd album on Erased Tapes Records with an innovative viral campaign seeing each track released separately over a number of weeks. Now the album’s out! Listen, enjoy, then come and rave.

VAETXH is a fast-rising star of bass and glitch. Having been discovered by The Centrifuge in 2010, his heady mix of laser-precision audio manipulation and body-spasmic bass frequency workouts is winning him fans across the globe. Not least record label bosses, who are queuing up to sign him. Come hear (and feel) what all the fuss is about!

GARETH CLARKE is a master of melody like no other. Combining compositional virtuosity with dancefloor sensibility it’s no wonder why he is harbouring an impressive and growing legion of admirers comprised of the great and the good of forward-thinking electronic music.

Fresh from his recent KWAQ release on Bonus Round, it’s an hour of techno and dubstep flavours both dark and bouncy. A truly great hour of tunes we’re chuffed to have on the show.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Baths (Anticon) interview / Guest mix from Datacrashrobot (Crazy Language)

A double whammy for you this week:

Firstly, we’ve an interview with Anticon’s emoglitchhop wunderkind Will Wiesenfeld aka Baths. Recorded just before his recent show at Cargo, Will talked about the royal wedding, being on Anticon, his current musical obsession (Azeda Booth) and a whole lot more. Then, when we realised the recorder hadn’t worked, he very graciously sat through and went all over it again. The eventual recording will air on tonight’s show.

After that, we’ve an exclusive guest mix from Datacrashrobot. Hailing from Bucharest, he’s put together an hour of his trademark glitch stylings for us. Regular listeners will know his releases on Crazy Language from previous shows, and he’s put together a stormer for us here.

In addition, we’ve new material from The Weevil Neighbourhood, Pachecko, Scrubber , dgoHn, Orson Bramley, Rival Consoles, Africa Hitech, Philia Monstrum, Hyetal, Chris Kubex and more.

United by the recent tragic events in Japan, The Centrifuge & Splutter team up once again to host an evening of altruism and cutting-edge music in the newly refurbished Islington Metal Works (aka Elektrowerkz). We’ve assembled a world-class lineup of musicians and artists to help us raise as much for charity as possible. 100% of the profits will go to Peace Winds who are providing aid and relief to the people most affected by the crisis.

We’re also holding a raffle prize draw, with exactly the kind of exclusive treats which money can’t buy, so you’ll want to bring a few extra pennies along!

Electronic music legend and “Jimi Hendrix of the TB-303” MIKE DRED aka THE KOSMIK KOMMANDO is heading up the lineup – check R&S, Rephlex and his own Machine Codes imprint to explore his expansive back catalogue. Resurgent drum’n’bass experimentalists ICARUS touch down for a rare London show, having recently remixed Caribou and Eclectic Method and ready to embark on a European tour this spring. LUKE’S ANGER promises to deliver his patented blend of rave-fuelled analogue techno whilst MONSTER X, POINT B and SCHEME BOY are geared up to pump out their own unique flavours of broken beats, bass and bleeps.

In the courtyard The Centrifuge and Splutter DJs and friends are on hand to fill the room with their latest sonic treats and we’re also pleased to announce that infamous street artist STIK is involved – known for his endearing humanoid stick characters which are seemingly endemic around London streets and art happenings.

  • TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Exclusive guest mix from Vaetxh (The Centrifuge / Tigerbeat6), plus Siriusmo competition

This week, we’re very proud to have an exclusive guest mix from The Centrifuge’s resident glitchmeister – and recent addition to Tigerbeat6’s Andale! series – Rob Clouth aka Vaetxh. A master of glitched out production and heavy bass, Rob’s music as Vaetxh has as much to offer fans of Autechre and Alva Noto as it does fans of Vex’d and Kryptic Minds. You’ll be hearing a lot more from him over the next few months, and this 30 minute mix of his own material is a great place to start.

In addition, we’re giving away 2 CD copies of my favourite album of the year so far, Siriusmo’s ‘Mosaik’. After his set at BLOC (one of the highlights of the weekend) there’s been a lot of talk about this Monkeytown signee, and you can get your own copy of the CD gratis if you tune in – and don’t worry if you miss the show, the competition will be open for a week for any archive listeners who feel they’ve missed out.

In addition, we’ve new music from Burial, Beardyman, Ukkonen, SKatterBrain, Shankles, PILAR, Aleksi Perala, Dorian Concept, Lone, Modeselektor, They Live, and however many more I can fit in the space of two hours.

Listen live on www.brap.fm, Thursday night, 10-12pm BST – or listen to the archive via The Centrifuge and Brap.fm sites, mixcloud.com/ursa, www.pfradio.com or direct via the iTunes podcast.
