TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – guest mix from Gareth Clarke

With the end of the year approaching, we thought it was time to give a little back. Those who were at The Centrifuge’s Rhythm Factory night in September will remember who awesome Gareth Clarke’s set was, and you’ll get a chance to hear it again on tonight’s show in advance of his slot at Free-lectronica in a couple of weeks.

Alongside this, the usual bundle of new music and details about the final shows of the year.

TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #59 – Guest mix from Canary Warp

Canary WarpOur first broadcast from our new studio goes out tonight, and we’ve got a guest mix from Canary Warp to christen the decks. A new pseudonym for someone familiar to net-labels Swishcotheque and the Centrifuge, Canary Warp combines the sleek styles of the 80s with the twisted sounds of proper IDM. In his own words it’s ‘Aesthetics of money and power… bonus kultur… cocaine… money worship… occult glamour… That sort of thing.’ We’ve got a laptop set for your delectation recorded at last week’s Freelectronica event, featuring some of his new tunes alongside tracks from Com Truise, Clark, Baconhead, The Tuss and more.

In addition, new music from Anstam, Lowtec, Space Dimension Controller, Plug, Rick James, Mark Archer, Sepalcure, Untold, Death Abyss and more.

TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #58 – Guest mix from Thin Consolation / Unrezt

Unrezt

Having reached their second decade, Thin Consolation have a great history of putting out off kilter, hip hop influenced beats. With Funckarma, Cupp Cave and Hermutt Lobby (amongst others) appearing on their releases, they’re one of the more interesting collectives to come out of Belgium in recent years. More details? ‘Some people drink, some collect stamps, some prefer gardening or cross dressing. This is our thing.’ Perhaps listening to their guest mix on the show this week will give you a better idea…

In addition, new music from Rustie, The Fear Ratio, Martyn, dBridge, Dead Sound & Videohead, Shebuzz, Funkineven, King Midas Sound, Orbital and many more…

Bestival

We’ve arrived back from Bestival with a cracker of a show for you. Over the weekend Ursa managed to track down Breakage, Dom and Kai from Mount Kimbie, and Kate Tempest from Sound of Rum to chat, and you can hear the results (plus a few of our favourite tracks from those artists) in a special feature on tonight’s show. In addition, we’ve got new music from The Binary Collective, Hitori Tori, Ninjato, Funckarma, Pangaea, Oxynucid, Space Dimension Controller and more, plus details of a competition to win CD copies of the new Cosmin TRG album on Monkeytown.

TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show – Interview with MODESELEKTOR

ModeselektorAs we approach the release of their 3rd LP, Modeselektor dropped into London to play at the SW4 festival alongside Pendulum, Richie Hawtin and others. We took the chance to corner them for a half hour chat about the new album, starting 2 labels, collaborating with Antipop Consortium and Busdriver, their live and recording processes and many more. We’re really proud to be able to give this insight into one of the best electronic acts of the last decade.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also new music from Cosmin TRG, Himuro, Legowelt, FMControl, Geotic, Ion Driver, Aardvack, Mark Swift, Unquote and many more.

Tune in at www.brap.fm, 10pm tonight.

Also my apologies for anyone who missed out on last week’s show – we were unable to send them promo from a field in Croatia. If you missed it, that show is now online. Check the Radio page for details.

TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #51 – mix from Anstam (50 Weapons)

As our radio show approaches its’ 2nd birthday, The Centrifuge Radio Show is honoured to feature a mix from 50 Weapons/Monkeytown’s secret weapon, Anstam. Originally recorded to celebrate their appearance at this year’s MUTEK festival, and featured as part of FACT Magazine’s podcast series, the secretive Berlin duo are back after two years away, and combine 90′s jungle, skeletal dubstep, IDM flavours, and a little bit of Arvo Pärt into 35m of utter ingenuity, and we’re glad to be able to feature them on the show.

In addition, we’ve some tracks from ICASEA’s new monstrous 75 track compilation in aid of Japan, plus new music from Raoul Sinier, Vincent Steiner, Bop, IJO, Eschaton, Opti, Hurtdeer, Tatlum, The One AM Radio, Threnody, Aerea Negro and many more.

And if you’re in the London area, don’t forget about the first Free-lectronica night, Weds 3rd at 93ft east, Brick Lane. For more details, visit http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122662457819056

TONIGHT – The Centrifuge Radio Show #50 – exclusive mix from Duskky & Hurtdeer

We’ve reached our 50th show, and to celebrate, we’ve a mix i’ve been looking forward to playing for months. Over the last two years we’ve showcased music from some of the most exciting and interesting new acts around, and some of the most thrilling has come from the Mothers Against Noise crew and Broken Bubble label. Two of their primary artists, Duskky and Hurtdeer, have combined to present a mix of 100/200bpm beats which is up there with the best mixes we’ve heard this year, and we’re proud to present it on our 50th show. Featuring exclusive tracks from both DJs, plus music from wAgAwAgA, Cognidubus and Krest, this is one that’ll stay on your iPod (or other brand mp3 player) for some time.
