Myoptik first came to public attention through his music journalism for the likes of Melody Maker and MilesAhead. A few years in radio followed with music and comedy shows for DemonFM and Resonance FM. Then, at the turn of the century the Myoptik sound-world fell upon the stage with a much lauded live performance at the Monastery Of Sound festival in Normandy with his group Blam Blam. This cemented his relations with the long-lost Law And Auder records for whom he provided tracks for a number of their highly respected
compilations.

Then there were many years of wild, rum-fuelled, gigs with highlights such as sets in Delia Derbyshire’s old home for Worm Interface Recordings, slots at the Summer Sundae Festival and two days compering and playing at the Secret Garden Party. On the acousmatic side his Skeletor project (with I-mitri) had two commissions for the Sonic Arts Network at their annual EXPO festival, whilst on the club scene closer to home links with Auxilec and Bathysphere allowed his PVC club nights to put funk-oriented electronics back into the Leicester underground scene.

On his own ping-discs label Myoptik has also worked with artists including Phalaeh, Chin-Chin, White Label Music, Normal Position, Cursor Miner, Manglebot, Reflexicon and Asmo to name a few. But perhaps the best partnership
of his career so far has been with BJ Cole: together their improvised, humorous funk sets have delighted audiences every time.

More recently he has worked closely with the highly respected net-label TheCentrifuge with some of his own ping-discs output being re-released through them. He is also working on various projects as part of the Stench collective in Leicester.
