brokeBust / Guide

brokeBust (UK / CH): brokeBust is a spoon that feeds you food you thought you hated. Conceived in 2003 as a way to tacitly induct people into experimental electronic music, brokeBust is essentially an out-of-control remix project. The idea is to offer up things which may not be immediately digestible to outsiders, then wrap them in deliciously familiar sugared coatings. Each live set is usually targeted at a single genre (R’n'B, Funk, 80s, Motown etc) which is then twisted and bent to breaking point. No tune is left unhurt!

Guide (UK / CH): Guide is Luke Geaney’s solo electronic output. Guide refers to the process of user-managed pseudo-randomness. Rather than dictating every detail explicitly, Guide seeks to form reciprocal relationships with technologies to afford managed paths to given destinations; wherein the details of the route are defined not by the navigator but by those who make the journey. In short: Guide does not program music, Guide programs musicians.

Guide also performs live remix sets as brokeBust and is one half of the Manchester math-rock duo Hot Bone (www.myspace.com/hotbone).
